Earlier in the year, our travel plans were cancelled because of the coronavirus. I was lucky that I was able to push my two weeks summer holiday to the second half of June, right when the borders within the European Union reopened. 

After watching the RAI/HBO tv-series ‘My Brilliant Friend’, Daniel had the urge to visit the isle of Ischia, which features in several episodes. We booked a flight to Rome, took the highspeed train to Naples and then a ferry boat to  l’isola verde.  We were the first tourists after months of lockdown, often we had hotels, restaurants, churches and attractions to ourselves.  The green island of Ischia is quite populated but still gorgeous: lovely views, towns, beaches  and great food!
